Anne-Marie Michel is a London-based visual artist working across photography, film and print.
Sisters of the Road — her celebrated portrait series of America's trucker women — grew from a childhood memory of her mother driving her and her sisters across America to start a new life. It became a book, a touring exhibition and an award-winning body of work.
Her recent short film A Legacy of Sound marks her shift into moving image — currently on the festival circuit and award-winning. It follows her 95-year-old great uncle and his singular mission: to leave his legacy in sound — in the bells of the Cotswolds church where he will one day be buried.
A meditation on legacy, landscape and eternity.
